Customer Reviews of ReadnQuiz

We just started using ReadNQuiz this January, and it’s going very well so far. I’m the media specialist at a middle school which previously used The-Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named. When they increased their subscription rates so high at the beginning of this school year, we said no thanks.

I've been very impressed by both the quantity and the quality of the quizzes on ReadNQuiz, and the staff has been most helpful. Our students are avidly taking tests again, and library circulations are up. I’m grateful that IntraData has developed an affordable alternative to a reading program that had become financially untenable

I'm happy to let you know that we will be purchasing ReadnQuiz as soon as I can get a P.O. tomorrow. I love your program.

We have been Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named users for the past decade or more, but late last year, our desktop installation began to slowly die. I inquired about Ren Learn Online, but as a Title 1 school, there was just no way we could possibly afford it. My classroom teachers were in a panic. We'd had The-Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named for so long, they weren't sure, at first, how to function without a testing program to keep kids accountable for their reading. I spent a week or more researching other online quiz programs. I ended up choosing Read-n-Quiz. Even though it is still very "new" as online quiz programs go, I found it to offer numerous current titles at a very affordable price. My classroom teachers also love the feature that allows students to vote on the reading difficulty of each book. It helps them when informally assessing comprehension and reading level. The program is so user friendly - not just to the administrator, but to the teachers and students as well. Setting up my entire school of 400 took less than a day's time, and once all the information was entered, it was running and ready for use! Teachers enjoy the ability to check student progress at home in the evenings and on weekends while they are planning for lessons and conferences. As the year has gone by, I've noticed, with GREAT pleasure, how well Read-n-Quiz keeps up with adding new tests. I would be willing to bet there are 1,000+ more tests now than there were when we started with them in October. My school has been nothing but pleased with the outstanding opportunities offered by this program! We have every intention of being their customer for years to come!

I'm noticing that our kids are using RQ more and more! It is slowly and steadily replacing The-Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named. I really appreciate this program, and would like to subscribe! I'll also speak to the Elementary school about subscribing.

We have combined ReadnQuiz with our desktop Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named so that I can still use all the quizzes we already purchased through the years. (Some schools I know just use ReadnQuiz by itself, since they didn’t have the same large level of Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named investment that we had.) Eventually, we plan to just switch over completely to ReadnQuiz, as their database of quizzes increases even more. Our kids seem to like it, including the fact that they get to give their input on the quality of the questions, as well as their own rating of the book, which provides that ‘social’ aspect to the program. IntraData is very responsive to suggestions and has a much more personal level of involvement than the bigger programs. They are continually improving and upgrading the capability of the program. The cost is very affordable. If every school who participates submits just a few quizzes per year, we’ll all have access to an extremely large bank of quizzes.

The student feedback was that the questions were harder and more of them, but they did like the program. The teachers felt that the questions were more aligned to CC and they like the fact that there were more questions for some books.

Personally I think the program has lots of potential and will grow as the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named continues to climb in price.

II am using Readnquiz this year and it has it pros and cons. It is in its start up phase and is still working out some bugs, but it is better than what we had. It is probably what the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named was in the beginning. (I have used both the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named and ReadnQuiz). The tests are many and varied. I don't like the link - the kids have to go through my website to get the correct log in page. However once they have done this it becomes easier.

The pricing between the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named and ReadnQuiz is unquestionably favorable. At the lower price per student for the school year, we can put up with some start up issues. ems or questions and fix same. The reports are limited, but I really don't need ALL that the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named has available. I have control of testing, scales, and retakes. I can build special classes for those who need accommodations. I think RQ will evolve into more than it is now and it keeps the kids reading with an end goal in mind. RQ makes a point system similar to the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named available to us without the expense that makes the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named beyond our reach. It is also more user friendly to the "newbie" teacher who gets overwhelmed with too many options. It is also manageable by students without too many bells and whistles.

I am a teacher in Texas whose district decided that the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named was too costly and cut us off mid-year!!! I found ReadnQuiz on-line and got a free trial. I have loaded all of my students in and they are testing. It is very similar. The only draw back, so far, is that there are not as many books available to quiz on as with the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named. But, you can always write one to add yourself! I am so glad that I found something for my students to use. They like earning points and getting the rewards!

We dropped the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named 4 years ago and last year began using ReadnQuiz. While we don't use it exactly like the Reading-Program-That-Must-Not-Be-Named, it is very helpful in checking a student's comprehension. We use it to show accountability for independent reading. I wrote quizzes for all of the Illinois Bluestem books, so that they can prove they have read them and be eligible to vote for their favorite book. I have also written quizzes for our Battle books that don't have them, so again they can prove they read the book and can participate in the Battle. The company is wonderful about publishing the quizzes in a timely manner. Every time that I contact them about an issue, they get back to me within the hour. I would say the only drawback is that there isn't a student reading assessment feature.

I have been using ReadnQuiz with my 5th grade students this year. It has been a huge timesaver for me and very easy to use. ReadnQuiz has a test for the majority of books that my students want to read."
